Did you know…….

· The Friends of the North Smithfield Animal Shelter have been providing volunteer services in our shelter since 1978.  Our passion is to foster a humane atmosphere for the well-being of the animals in the North Smithfield Animal Shelter awaiting their “forever home.”

· “The Friends” provide veterinary care such as vaccines, screening for viruses and parasites, medical treatments, microchipping, and spay/neuter procedures for age-appropriate animals in the North Smithfield Animal Shelter.

· “The Friends” sponsor various fundraising events to help offset the cost of: (1) providing for the needs of animals in the shelter and (2) our Senior Pet Project that assists pet owners living in North Smithfield’s senior complexes in caring for their pet.  The Friends of the North Smithfield Animal Shelter, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, do not receive funding from the town for our services in the shelter or for the Senior Pet Project. “The Friends” rely on donations in order to continue doing our good work.

Donations from kind folks who care about animals and support what

“The Friends” do are welcome and very much appreciated .

TEDDY

Teddy came to the shelter as a stray. He bonded with Ed, one of our volunteers, who adopted him and gave him a home of his own. Teddy especially enjoyed going on daily car rides with Ed!
